Support @StottandScott #Kickstarter Campaign

For most mums, next Sunday might signify a day of flowers and possibly a lie in. But not so for Manchester duo Jackie and Caroline (Stott and Scott) as they prepare to launch the Kickstarter appeal they hope will take their fashion business to the next level on Sunday March 15th.

Best friends Stott & Scott came up with an amazing concept: a reversible hat that is a rain hat and sun hat in one beautiful and functional design. The Floppy’wester was born, and has been praised widely; from Good Housekeeping to Edith Bowman.

The duo explained ‘We were influenced by the fact that the weather in Manchester is so changeable and you need to have an umbrella at hand whatever the season, ‘ explain the duo, ‘We had both tired of carrying around a flimsy damp umbrella and thought it would be great to have a rain hat instead. When we searched in shops and online we couldn’t find a hat that was fashionable and yet practical. The idea is that the hat can be used in any season and will work for the rain or shine and will fit neatly in your handbag.’ (Viva Magazine)

The duo hail from Stockport, Manchester and they soon discovered on their millinery journey that the local area has a heritage in the hatmaking industry. Stott & Scott enlisted the help of the Stockport Hat Museum for their Kickstarter campaign and stress they are keen to revive this part of Manchester’s history. All their hats are made from locally sourced materials and produced in the area.

The Kickstarter funding will hopefully allow Stott & Scott to roll out their brand from it’s current position offering seasonal women’s collections to include bespoke lines, men’s and children’s ranges. Investments start at just £1 and investors will be able to play an active role in growing the company – as well as bagging themselves an exclusive and innovative hat!

The campaign launches on Kickstarter on Sunday night – check more details and please do support this upcoming and unique British brand.
