Club Criminal has come on one hell of a progressive journey to reach the standard of excellence it maintains today in both its bands and followers who make the Criminal community an asset to the London music scene. With a diverse music scene that incorporates as much Indie (Club NME resident Shifty Disco Boy playing a variety of Indie core tunes each week) as it does good, old fashioned rock’n’roll. Criminal Records events have been in a variety of top class venues across London since the record label’s inception over six years ago. Even better, it’s clear that Criminal Records events are growing evermore popular, with residencies storming at Proud Camden, The Barfly, Purple Turtle, Tommy Flynn’s, Bloomsbury Bowling Lanes, The Fiddler’s Elbow and many more venues each month.
However, the flagship event, Club Criminal will now reside at ANAM BAR (3 Chapel Market, Islington) literally 2 minutes from Angel tube station, so no long treks to find a good night out! Get your glad rags on and head down town every Wednesday night from 8pm-2am, for all you late night stop outs. Wanna know the best bit? Its free entry! MD at Criminal spoke to us earlier and mentioned ‘We’ve wanted to host free entry events in London for some time, so we felt that hosting Club Criminal at Anam would be a great move to make that happen.’ Anam Bar is one of the top five cocktail bars in London, with a VIP drinks list including Champagne, Prosecco and Martini Cocktails and special offers at every Club Criminal event. The event will run across the venues’ two floors.
Criminal has hosted an array of amazing artists from The Thirst, Officer Kicks, Tom Hingley (Inspiral Carpets) and Oliver Piggot (Canadian X Factor Finalist) in recent times. Having already successful grown Club Criminal in Soho for over two years, Criminal Records feels that the move to a free entry event is great news for those who want to keep a keen eye on the next big acts, but who don’t want to shell out too much for it. Not only can you check out a variety of A&R selected bands, but then dance the night. From November 21st you can get a double dose of fun, since Club Criminal will open every Sunday ASWELL as Wednesday, GENIUS. So as much as indie attracts skinny jeans and loafers, Club Criminal is back with a vengeance!
So that’s Anam bar over in Islington, every Weds and Sun, free entry, simples!
