Marko Mitanovski is London based Serbian designer.He graduated from the College of Design in Belgrade in 2009.
He was one of the chosen designers on UK Vogue competition for Ones to Watch show that was held at London Fashion Week, September 2009. It was an open competition for young designers, from all over the world, where panel chose only four designers to take part.
Marko’s designs have been showcased at ceremonies such as London fashion week, ‘Nokia L’Amour Award’, Belgrade Fashion Week October 2008, Slovenian International Fashion Festival, Pacha club/Ibiza, Monterey Fashion Week, Stylo Festival/Malaysia, Zagreb Fashion Week, Europe Future Fashion-Split, Act Art – London, SHOWstudio exhibition, Gaga a Gogo exhibition-Paris(first installation of Lady Gaga’s costumes).
Following the presentation of his ‘Lady Macbeth’ collection on London Fashion Week 2009, Marko’s costumes were featured in leading international fashion publications such as Dazed, Vision, Elle, Grazia, L’Officiel, Drama magazine, Vogue.co.uk etc.Following the screening of his short film on London Fashion Week in February 2010, it is to be shown on international short film festivals such as No Limits Film Festival (UK) and Fonlad Digital Art Festival (Portugal).His designs have been worn by celebrities such as Lady Gaga, Skunk Anansie, Katie Melua , Paloma Faith, Immodesty Blaize, , Bishi, Broken Hearts to name but a few.His work is recognisable for its sculptural and theatrical form, detailed construction and precise geometry.The Lady Macbeth collection is an ideal example of the structural form of renaissance costume where he chose the most significant elements, exaggerated them and added certain elements of the fetish and punk themes thus bringing the Elizabethan era into the 21st century
